About Tuesday this past week we decided it would be a good idea to go on vacation over Labor day weekend.  (Nothing like last minute decisions :) )  So we decided it was time to head back to Connecticut/Rhode Island were we used to live and it only seemed right to go camping.  Wasn't so sure about camping with a 1 year old, but it turned out awesome!!  We made it in really late last night and for some reason Harper decided that she did not want to sleep in the car.  So after we got the tent all set up it was bed time and for Harper that was 3 hours after her normal bed time.  Surprisingly she was in really good spirits, but we new we were in for it.  She slept through the night like a champ, was SUPER excited to wake up the next morning, look over the side of the pack and play and see Mommy and Daddy sleeping right next to her.  But because of the previous late night, we had breakfast and went back to sleep.  After a sleepy morning we headed into Mystic to watch the drawbridge and boats, walk through downtown, explore an art fair and had a nice picnic lunch on the square.  As if that was not enough excitement for the day we decided to head to Watch Hill Rhode Island to go to the beach.  The weather was overcast which was perfect taking a baby to the beach!  Watch Hill also has an old fashioned carousel that we watched for a while, unfortunately Harper was too little to ride, but that didn't stop her from having a great time watching other kids.  When we made it to the beach she was not so sure of the sand or water, but after a little while she loved it!!  Then we met some old friends for pizza and ice cream and headed home for bed.  All that and it was just day one of our vacation!
