38 Weeks -- Hospital Time

38 Weeks
ON THE WAY TO THE HOSPITAL!!

38 Weeks and 2 days

(we kept saying we needed to get our 38 week picture in and then it was too late -- uh oh )

Here we are in the hospital parking lot.  Our last picture as just the two of us, from now on it will be the three of us :)

So Tuesday, July 10th Kurt woke up and started getting around for work.  After he went downstairs I decided to go to the bathroom really quick before I went back to bed for a few minutes.  Well when I went to the bathroom I was pretty sure my water broke but I was not sure, so I attempted to go back to bed.  About ten minutes later I knew I was not going to sleep so I got up to get some breakfast, and then my water definitely broke.  I called Kurt to let him know as he was supposed to head down to Sunbury for the day.  But I also told him I was not sure exactly what was going on but I would call the doctor.  Well I called and they said come right in, so I had to cancel my appointment and I told Kurt I would meet him at the hospital.  (I took my good old time, showered, packed all of our bags in the car and then headed to the hospital).  We got there about 8 (water broke about 6:30am) and they had us change and hang tight.  Well we don't hang tight very well so we began pacing the halls.  We walked and walked and walked and walked.  We would only come back to the room when the nurse needed to hook us up to monitors and machines, then back to walking.  The walking was working, but we were going on baby time, and she was not ready to come until Grandma and Grandpa Shader could arrive (wish she could have told us that).  About 4 contractions started getting quite painful, but we just kept on walking.  Then they started getting worse and worse and I was not getting up at all.  We decided to get some phetanol to ease the pain.  Well that did nothing but make them farther apart, it did not help make it any less painful.  It was too much, too much for me to bear and too much for Kurt to watch me go through.  So after an hour of so of just phetanol we decided to get an epidural.  I was scared to death of getting one, but we did.  Well it helped, did not take the pain away but it helped.  The problem was that meant I had to lay still and not move.  It was tough, but at about midnight it was time to push.  We started pushing and at 1:01am baby Harper Ella Stabler was born.  A healthy 7lbs 5 oz and 20 1/4 inches long.  When they placed her on my stomach all I could think of was she was perfect.  Perfect little lips, perfect little nose, just perfect.  We were in love and now a family of three :)

Happy Birthday Harper!

We decided that we should have some fun and take some pictures while we had this great big belly.  So  we waited until it was a little bit cooler last night and the two of us went out to try to capture some great belly pictures.  Here are some of my favorites, including some goofy ones :)

Don't have much to update this week, still feeling great, with a few days here and there where I feel slightly tired or run down.

Kurt is the one who should be run down as he has been working really hard making lots of things for the new house.  He has made an awesome gun cabinet, end table for the living room, end tables for our bedroom, book shelf for the babies room, sewing table for my craft room, and a thread holder for me as well.  He has been very busy! I will try and take some pictures to show everyone how great they are! We have our own little furniture factory around here :)

We are in the home stretch!  We now have to go to the doctors every week, which means we are getting really close.  Can't believe in about a month we will have a new addition to our family.  Everything is all set (or as set as it is going to be) so whenever she comes we will pretend we are ready :) haha  But at the last doctor's appointment they checked and basically said she is pretty comfy in there so it doesn't look like she is going to visit us early.  Which is just fine with us :)  So hopefully one more month of this growing belly.  It just keeps getting bigger and bigger!  I can tell just looking at the pictures from a few weeks ago that she is growing rapidly.

Today we had a picnic up at Sunset Haven.  We thought about walking up there, but then decided that our belly's did not want to wait that long.  So we took a three wheeler ride up through the fields to have a picnic up on top.  As always, it was just beautiful up there.

For those who have never been here, Sunset Haven is the top of our property above the corn and hay fields.  Kurts Pap had a small cabin up there where he used to sit and hunt and he named it Sunset Haven.  The cabin is falling apart but we still enjoy going up there to enjoy the view.  One of these days we will fix up the cabin.  And when I say cabin it is probably a 10x10 room with a door and a few windows.

Michigan Baby Shower

We drove to Michigan this weekend to have a celebration weekend!  On Saturday we had a terrific shower at Buddy's pizza.  It was terrific!  We took over the front room, had delicious Buddy's Pizza, Bartz Bakery cake and lots of fun.  Even the boys made it out but we let them hang out at the bar rather than be tortured with all of our chatting!  Then on Sunday we celebrated Ellary's first birthday party.  Everyone made it, including Elmo!

Elmo made it to the party!

And of course we could not post without showing the belly, so here it is.

PA Baby Shower

Thank you to everyone who came out for my baby shower.  It was great having everyone together to celebrate baby Stabler.  Thank you so much to Kerri, Lisa, Linell and Mom for pulling everything together.  It was fantastic.  For those who are reading, I have had to eat Gluten free for the past six weeks due to finding the root of a longstanding rash.  Well on a gluten free diet there is not usually very many choices, not at this baby shower.  There was so much delicious food that I had three servings -- yes not one, not two but three.  It was DELICIOUS!!  Which is why we could not get by without the next picture :)

This week I am not sure if the baby is growing or if that belly is from the delicious food at the shower.  Throughout the pregnancy I have not really had any cravings or crazy starving fits, but after feeling restricted for five weeks it sure felt nice to have not only choices to eat but delicious ones!!

Also, you will notice this is the first picture inside the finished new house -- this is standing in the kitchen with the mudroom behind me.

We made it, we are in the new house!!  Thank goodness we had lots of helpers to help us move.  The nice thing was we could move only the stuff that had a new spot in the new house.  So there is still a few things in the old house, but until they have a spot to go to they will stay there.  But overall we are in the new house and sleeping there :)  Still having water issues so we can't use the water to drink or cook with, but otherwise we are in.  Hopefully in the next week or so we will get the rest of the water all figured out.

House is DONE!!!!!!

So the house is finished!! Woo Hoo!! The only issue now that we have to overcome is the water issue.  We had difficulties in drilling the well to begin with and now we have learned that we have sediment and methane in the water.  First and foremost we are going to make sure the well keeps producing water, then we will try to keep running the water to get the sediment out and lastly we will have to get a  filter to get the methane out.  As of now the plan is to move in Memorial Day weekend.  Hopefully that will work out with the water issues.
